Chicken Coop

This is my Suncast plastic shed transformed into a chicken coop.
I built two levels that the chickens can access. The right wing has a removable partition for introducing new chickens. I added electricity for a fan in the summer and a heater in the winter.
The chickens walk out the window, down a plank and into the outside run.
I'm working on installing a sink.
Note the picture frame hung on door - It's my egg candling license that allows me to sell eggs legally:)

 The run.
 I have mostly bantam chickens
 The plank.

Chasen's 6 year Backyard Barnyard Party

Click here to view these pictures larger

We had a GREAT time celebrating Chasen's 6 year birthday. We had the party a little early since he turns 6 right before school starts. We figured he needed a few weeks to play with his toys before starting back! It was hot and humid-you can tell by the pictures of Chasen. It was NOT a water party! We showcased our chickens and had a friend bring his goats for the kids to pet. We have been working really hard all summer getting ready for this party, now it's time to relax! 2 more weeks and I'm back to work!

Peachtree Roadrace 2012

After 36 years of living in Atlanta, I finally participated in the Peachtree Road Race! I signed up with my sister and Justin for this annual 4th of July celebration with 60,000 of our closest friends. The 10k runs down Peachtree Street from Lennox Mall to Piedmont Park. Justin caught a cold and wasn't able to join us so it was just me and my big sis. We walked the 6.2 miles together, caught cheese puffs in mid air and shared a Miller Lite beer! (Of course we drank a lot of water as well!) I felt very good walking the race but I would like to try to run it next year-at least most of it! It was a LOT longer than I thought it was going to be, but what entertainment along the way!
