Chicken Fever!

Miller Plantation has now become Miller Farm! We have chickens! Justin has been wanting chickens for over a year now. I have said no over and over but finally gave in (when he bought a chicken barn). We bought our first batch today, six chicks in all. 2 Silkie's (fluffy) , 2 Cochins (my favorites), and 2 Serama's (the smallest chicken breed). We bought them from one of Justin's new BFF's from his chicken club. Yes, you are reading this right-Justin Ryan Miller is a member of a chicken club! This guy had 300+ chickens in his yard! I asked his wife how many they started with, and she said 6...

This will really be an adventure for our family. I'm interested in using the chickens to create an awesome compost pile for our gardens, and using the gardens to feed our chickens! I think it's a bit funny though, that our family had fish, rabbits, and chickens. What ever happened to just having a dog or a cat?
