Trick-or-Treat!

Wow-am I tired! Halloween was a blast! We started our festivities at Heritage Hills where the kids did a trunk-or-treat and made their rounds with Nani! They had an airplane theme so it was pretty fun and the kids slid down the inflatable slide a few times. We didn't spend a lot of time there because we had our neighborhood to trick-or-treat in. 2 hours later we are tired and loaded down with candy! Sophia did a GREAT job! She went up to all of the houses, jumped around like a frog, and said "thank you" in her own sweet way. Chasen was Spiderman and had fun telling everyone "Happy Halloween!" But getting both kids to understand that they can't eat ALL of the candy in one night is a tough one-maybe even tougher than all the hills we had to climb down the street!

More fall fun!

I'm posting 2 blogs in one day, so please make sure you scroll down to see the first post! These are picturs of the latest fall festivals we have attended. The first was the festival at Chasen's school last Friday. We munched on popcorn and cotton candy while Chasen played games and jumped in the bouncy houses. The festival was a little scarier than he had anticipated though-Chasen got stuck in between two inflatables on the obstacle course! It was pretty scary and he was shaken up for a bit. Good thing Daddy saved the day and went in to rescue Chasen!

Last night I went with my mom to Zion Baptist's Trunk-or-Treat. It was nice because it was inside and they had a ton of games. The games were not too hard for Chasen and even Sophia got to play some! We went on a hayride in the woods and then my parents came over for dinner. Tomorrow is the Trunk-or Treat at my parent's church. We plan on attending that and then coming back home to Trick-or-Treat! I can't wait!

Pumpking Carving 101

We carved or pumpkins last week-a little early I guess because they were bad four days later! But Chasen actually got to "cut" the pumpkin this year. He scooped out the seeds and learned how to use the pumpkin carving tools. They were cute while they lasted and the seeds were delicious! Justin is trying to grow the seeds to add to our garden next year-wouldn't that be great if we could grow our own Halloween pumpkin?

6 year anniversary trip

Our 6 year anniversary was on October 15th and Justin planned out an exciting surprise for me to celebrate! He left clues each night the week before giving me hints of where we were going. The clues were really creative and I posted them on Facebook for other friends to see. Some were easy but some were hard! The morning of the 15th the family got into the car and pulled out of the garage. Justin then told me to get out of the car and kiss the kids goodbye. He handed me a note and drove away! The note said that I had 15 minutes to pack an overnight bag and that someone would come pick me up. 15 minutes later my friend Amy pulled up in our driveway. I thought for sure Justin was going to come back with the kids and a breakfast from Sonic! Amy drove me to IHOP where Justin met us with red roses (I LOVE pancakes!). He had used the decoy to drop the kids off at my mom's house for the weekend. We were going on our trip.... ALONE!!! We have never been away overnight together without the kids. I was a little thrown by this one and cried a bit, after all I love my children! But I was glad that we had the time together to remember what we love about each other! We toured wineries in Dahlonega and Helen all day. What beautiful views with the mountains and the changing leaves! We bought a bottle of wine at each of the vineyards and I look forward to sharing them with Justin and remembering what a wonderful anniversary trip he planned!

And just like that....

It turned fall! Last week we were hot and in shorts, this week we had to find all of our jackets that have been in storage! Sunday we took the kids to Haven's fall festival. It was such a nice evening, not too hot and not too cold. We had hotdogs and lots of candy! The kids enjoyed the most wreckless hay ride I've ever been on, but secretly it was a lot of fun! Chasen was pretty good at tossing toilet paper into a potty (first time I've ever seen that game!)but Sophia showed him up- she did a toilet paper slam dunk!
