Water bugs

Excuse me sir, but is that a hissing cockroach on your arm?

We have a couple of water bugs on our hands this summer, they both love the water and Chasen loves bugs! We have spent almost every afternoon in the backyard either in the inflatable pools or the slip 'n slide. Chasen hasn't figured out the slip 'n slide yet, he just runs down it or stops and jumps instead of sliding. Sophia likes to walk it like a cat-walk in her cutie bathing suit! We also went to a "Bug Camp" put on by the local 4-H office. Chasen (and parents) learned a lot about insects, made some crafts, and Chasen got to hold a few bugs including a giant hissing cockroach! He thought it tickled! After camp, he started picking up all the bugs around the house and let them crawl all over his arm....boys!

Pictures only of Tellus

A quick post about Tellus

We took advantage of the "free" museum passes from Bank of America today. Every first weekend of the month, several museums give free admission if you show a Bank of America card. This month we visited the Tellus Science Museum up in Cartersville. They had dinosaur fossils, amazing rock and mineral displays, fossil and gem digging, and fun ways for kids to explore weather and physical science. We had a nice time, Chasen had a blast! I think in a few years it would be fun to go back so that Chasen could understand more the science behind the fun. I wish I had gone there two summers ago when I was spending hours upon hours studying rocks for my science classes! These are some "action" shots, the next are just cute!
