SUMMER!!!

Summer is finally here, I thought school would never end! Chasen had his "graduation" and was given the award of "Mr. Friendly" since he speaks to everyone in the halls and makes friends with everyone in the class. I remember getting frowny face notes sent home about him talking in the hallways quite a few times this year....one day it's bad the next day it's an award! Go figure!

We are going to visit Silka in Alabama soon and are curious to see her hotel and new hometown. I think it will be like driving 5 hours to visit Covington, but it will be a nice change for a few days and will give us a chance to explore Alabama. I think the kids will get a kick out of the pool too. I remember the pools were always the best part of my childhood vacations (sorry mom and dad)!

Catching Up

I'm finally catching up on the blog since Mother's Day! I posted these pictures on Facebook and forgot to blog them, so I'm a few weeks behind! Mothers day was great. I had chocolate croissants for breakfast, a Monte Cristo sandwich for lunch, and we went over to the Millers for a Cinco de Mayo Mothers Day dinner! Lots of yummy food all day long! I won't write that much more for this blog since I'll have to follow it up with more recent pictures!

It must be nice to be a kid these days!

These photos are from Easter weekend, but I thought they were cute enough to post. They got me thinking about life though-kids today have it made! I remember the first time I saw a "moonwalk", it was at my elementary school fair. I honestly can't remember bouncing in another one besides that one time. But I would like to look back and my childhood and hope that I enjoyed at least one more bounce! Today's kids EXPECT to find bouncy houses and inflatable slides wherever they go! They are at Halloween and Easter fesitvals as well as July 4th picnics. (Let's not even go into the fact that there are an ABUNDANCE of these festivals to choose from!) They even have facilities devoted to inflatables where kids run wild and slide and bounce for hours on end. Me, I cling to my one memory of a bouncy house and wish that I would have bounced for just a little while longer....

School Time, Cool Time

As the 2010-2011 school year comes to an end, Chasen's class has been busy catching up on field trips and the likes! Chasen had the chance to visit a farm with cows, bunnies, and a fun tractor ride. He then picked strawberries with daddy like a pro! Of course, now we think those strawberries are the cause of his food allergies but that's a whole other blog! After the farm, all of the Pre-K's in Rockdale County got together for a "walk". Of course, the sidewalks weren't finished and the whole thing was unorganized....go Rockdale! This week, Chasen's class had their "Muffins and Mommy's" Breakfast and I joined Chasen for a morning snack. The class surprised us with Mother's Day presents of potted plants and a picture drawn by the kids. When asked about his mother, Chasen responded that I was "cute" and that he loved me, liked it when I played, and thought I was a great tickler! A mother can't ask for any sweeter words than those!
