Jacinda - just for the record Shish-kabob and Barbeque are their full birth logically given names that were based on their destiny, but we can just call them "Bob" and "Barbie."
Easter 2

The biggest surprise of Easter came from Auntie Silka! Justin told her to bring rabbit for the grill and she brought baby bunnies! We named them Shish-kabob and Barbeque but they won't be on anyone's plate any time soon. We were both very surprised but open to the idea. Of course we have now been researching bunnies and they are a lot of work. All I have to say is that the next time Silka visits she needs to clean out their litter box and bring a bag of carrots! Seriously though, they are downright adorable. We are just trying our best to teach Chasen how to NOT be a bunny-stalker!
Easter 1

Easter was WONDERFUL!! We hope everyone had as lovely as a time as we did! We had the families over for Easter Brunch: Eggs Benedict in a Basket, Breakfast Meat Kabobs, Hot Potato Salad, Joy's homemade muffins and salmon spread, Darlene's Triple-Lemon Pie, and Lemonade-Sangria! Fine dining restaurants would have a hard time beating our brunch! The kids loved their Easter baskets and of course we had an egg hunt. Sophia had to nap so her egg hunt was later after everyone had left, but she had a great time. She was running so fast she almost fell over her own feet! This post will be quickly followed by "Easter 2" because there is more to come....

Home Sweet Home

One of the best parts of spring is the renewal of our plant and animal life in a parade of flowering blossoms and fuzzy caterpillars! We have been spending a lot of time outside as a family exploring the great outdoors and encountering adventures in our own backyard! Justin has been working very hard landscaping, his only limit is our budget! Yard upkeep is expensive! This is our second year growing grapes so we are excited to see how much they grow and curious on how we will handle this growth! We have new knock-out rose bushes that we purchased at the end of last year that are already in bloom. And our latest yard addition is our River Birch tree in the front yard. We cut down our Bradford Pear tree last year because of its temperament to break in the middle of the night and take out mailboxes. We finally planted a replacement tree and decided on a Birch. We took this picture of the kids so that we can see how fast it grows-or how fast the kids grow!

Fun with Nana Joy!
Nana Joy had a blast at Miller Plantation. She had grilled stuffed peppers - that were delicious!

Spring Break comes to an end
Spring Break came and went. Time flies when you're having fun, or in our case cleaning up and doing yard work! Justin did a ton of yard work this week since I was home to help watch the kids. We also bought the small piece of property next to us so he has been working on clearing that out as well. I did a lot of spring cleaning, getting rid of old clothes that were too big for me (yeah) and cleaning the house for visits from friends. I actually did pretty well this week, I saw 4 of my friends which is a lot for one week! This week off just makes me wish for summer to be here soon. Only seven more weeks-I can't wait!
