Live like noone else...

Spring is on it's way and so are our tax refunds! The Dave Ramsey in us is having our tax refunds go to pay off debt (yeah!). The Justin is us is also spending some of that money to do some home improvements (that are much I needed I have to agree). We finally got our stumps ground from having trees cut down last spring. We are now prepped and ready to plant new trees in their place which will ONE DAY help cool down our house! We never knew how much that Bradford Pear tree in our front yard helped cut down on the electricity bill until we boiled alive in our living room this summer! We also had our septic tank pumped for the first time since living here. It's good thing too, it was full! There were some corroded parts so it cost us twice as much as we expected. But better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your septic tank (yuck)! We also invested in a good weedeater/blower/trimmer/edger/mini chainsaw for landscaping. We have lived here for 5 years now and never owned any of those! Congratulations to our fathers and father in laws-you can now have your broken tools back! The rest will go to pay off fun we've had in the past via credit cards as well as our security fund. We are followers of Dave Ramsey and are still on the first two steps but there is light at the end of the tunnel! We are living like noone else now so that we can live like noone else later!

That's some good squid!

Sophia is the newest addition to our squid fan club, though she has taken the spot previously held by Chasen. Sophia loves squid! Chasen use to as a baby as well, but since he has become increasingly picky, squid is off of his menu. Oh well, that means more for us!

Our home has been wrecked by the flu for the past 2 weeks. Chasen was out of school all last week with the flu and then Sophia and Justin came down with it over the weekend. I thought I was going to get away with not catching it but Tuesday night I got hit hard and missed 2 days of work. From what I hear it was a nightmare at work because my sub didn't show and the kids were acting wild because they get a 2 day break. But the good thing is, maybe with the 2 day break anyone who is mad at me for calling out will forget all about it!

When did February get here?

The last time I blogged I believe it was during one of our snow days here in Georgia. Little did I know then, but a snow day turned into a snow week! All of the schools were closed for the entire week, plus everyone had MLK day off as well! It was a nice break, but everyone was trapped inside with nothing to do. Unfortuantley because of the lost days, everyone lost their February break! It seems like we have been trying to catch up ever since. Sophia finally had her 1 year doctor appointment and weighs 18 lb and 13 oz. She is 29 1/4 inches long-still an itty-bitty thing! She only has 3 teeth but is very active and gets into everything! Justin had his birthday at home where he was showered with mussels, clams, and oysters. The Falcons lost in the playoffs which has really upset Justin. He only hopes that Green Bay wins in the Super Bowl since they beat the Falcons so badly. Chasen is excited about Valentine's Day. He's really been in a loving mood lately. He is passing out hugs and kisses all of the time and he tells us how much he loves us several times a day. I'm eating it up! Sophia is gettting into the love too and runs up to Chasen and gives him big hugs-so sweet!
