OK, I'm ready for the recession to be over!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm really ready for this recession to be over. We just got our Property Tax Bill in the mail. It's over $400 more than it was last year! Our state has decided not to give a homestead exception as well as our county. Add on top of that the fact that our state has made teachers take furlough days, and we are all pretty sure they will do it once again before the year is over. It just seems like the government is making things worse behaving this way! How can they expect to decrease people's salaries while raising taxes? And the services that the taxes go to are in decline and you can't get helped when you need it because of lack of staff/services.

We are going to try to have Sophia in December. Either on the 28th (that's what I want) or the 29th (that's what Justin wants). So, it will probably be the 28th-ha ha! Of course, that's if she doesn't decide to come earlier. This decision was made so that I don't end up having to pay 2 years worth of deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums. Plus, we can then claim her on this year's taxes. Of course with the way things are going, they might eliminate that perk! I would make this a separate paragraph but the recession is causing my blog to not allow me to do that...Chasen is doing well. He's going to preschool 3 days a week now. Pictured here is his weekend treat of cocoa. He really loves the stuff-as you can tell! What you can't tell is he's really sitting there without any pants on. With this recession, we can't afford pants...

Fun with the Falcons

The Millers went to the "Roam the Dome" event today at the Georgia Dome. It was a free preview for the fans where the Falcons had a practice game against each other and fans could get autographs and play on the field. Chasen had a good time. He liked the mascot and cheering for the team. Of course, he wanted to get out on the field the whole time and play...
On other news, we are 100% having a girl! We went for an ultrasound on Thursday and everything looks really good. Sophia Rose is 7 ounces! She had grown so much since the last ultrasound, but if you consider that in two weeks I'll be 20 weeks along (that's halfway through the pregnancy) she still has a long way to go! Now I understand why we get stretchmarks! She will be growing 7 pounds or so in only four months! Well, at least now I can start buying pink and ruffled clothing! I can't wait!

Growing Boy!

We took Chasen for his 3 year old doctors appointment. He wasn't too happy with that decision. He kept saying "No doctor, no, no! No doctor!" It doesn't help that the lady's really weird. We like ONE doctor at this office and somehow we never end up getting him, even though I scheduled the appointment so that we would see him! But that's another story.

Chasen weighed 34.5 lbs and was 38.75 inches tall. Last year, he weighed 28 lbs and was 35.5 inches tall. He is now in the 77 %tile for weight and 74 %tile for height. Last year he was 50% and 78%. So I guess a year's worth of mommy worrying he wasn't eating enough paid off! He got his polio vaccine so he's all ready to start preschool, which starts again on August 10th. He will be going 3 days a week from 9am-12pm and I know that he will have fun. He really enjoys his little friends there.
