Good Clean Fun

Chasen enjoys bath time every night, as proven by these pictures! And boy did he need a bath!
Things are settling down after the holidays at the Miller's. School has started back for both me and Justin. I go two nights a week to class, but the class is only an hour and fifteen minutes long. Plus, no papers or projects to do! I do have a major project to complete for my practicum though. It's called an Action Research Paper and it seems like it is almost as cumbersome as a dissertation for a doctorate degree! I haven't chosen my topic yet, but I think once I do that I will feel much better about the paper.
February is going to be very exciting for me at my work. I am taking my Math Bowl team to two competitions and going to a fancy conference that is over $500 a ticket courtesy of my school. I am very excited about both. I have been meeting with my math bowl kids for a while now and I think they will have a really good time at the competitions. Plus, since they consist of all grade levels, there should be a solid team already started for next year. Speaking of next year, with the economy how it is now schools are cutting jobs all over Georgia. I already know I won't get a raise next year, but hopefully I'll still have a job! There are a lot of changes going on at my school, so it should be interesting to see how everything works out.
We moved Chasen into a twin sized "big-boy" bed. So far, he has fallen out twice! Justin argues that he is climbing out but just being too tired to do anything after that. All I know is that I've found the kid on the floor twice now. We are pulling out the co-mattress underneath his bed now so at least if he falls (or climbs) out he will have a nice cozy mattress to sleep on! I think he will get use to it and we won't have these problems after too long.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone rang in the new year with style! We rang in the new year going to bed at 10:00 like the old folks we are!
So I've posted more pictures than I usually do. I put some more of Santa's trip to the mall up as well as some taken on Christmas day at my parents' house. I would put up some from Christmas with the Millers but I don't have them....hint hint hint!
Chasen really enjoyed Christmas this year, and I have to say I have really enjoyed it too. We put up our Christmas tree this year and he has really enjoyed looking at the decorations. He is full of "Ho Ho Ho" and "No" for snowmen. If you just say the word Christmas he goes "Ho Ho Ho!". We took him to the Christmas Eve service at our church. He really enjoyed it and was dancing and singing to the music. He was very good sitting with us for an hour! On Christmas day we opened his presents here, his favorite being a digital camera. So he has been taking our pictures all over and saying "Cheese!". Then we went for brunch at my parents' and his favorite gifts there were his fire house and a box of animal magnets. He had such a good time playing with both. The Millers came over for Christmas dinner and they gave him a big semi-truck that carries cars. Aunt Joyce and Uncle Bill sent him a Sesame Street book and 9-piece puzzle. This type of puzzle is not the chunky wood puzzles he usually does, but the more advanced cardboard type. He is actually pretty good at it! All of his gifts were more big-boy toys than he has ever had before. Our little boy is growing up!
As for the grown folks-we had our share of nice presents. My personal favorite was a year pass to Imagine It! Children's Museum from my folks. We have already been twice! He has such a good time there. He saw the Bob the Builder expo and he danced like crazy during the show they put on! It was also a good time to catch up with some of my friends as I went first with my friend Lisa and then with my friend Katrina. I also had a chance this holiday to spend some time with my MIL-Joy! We went beading! So far I have 3 new necklaces and there are more in the works. I think I might have a new hobby, though Justin won't be happy to hear that! Today we are going with my mom to the farmer's markets. My mom hasn't been to them and it should be an adventure!
