What's going on?

I just realized as I was looking for pictures to add to the blog that I haven't taken any pictures of Chasen in forever! I've thought about taking pictures this week so that I could have a new picture to add, but he has been sick and sticky-icky! This picture is from Easter dinner....so long ago!

Again, Chasen was sick this week with the strangest thing....it started off with runny and irritated eyes. We thought for sure that he had pink eye or some other eye infection. Then he got a very high fever and started getting a runny nose. Ended up that he had an EAR infection that had spread to his eyes and nose because it was untreated. We had no idea he had an ear infection! He did not pull on his ears, scratch them, or anything! Justin said that it was like an episode of House at the doctor's office. They gave him shots and he had to go back the next day and get 10 days worth of medicine. He's all better now. The doctor even called yesterday to see how he was, which I thought was really nice.

He's starting to say some "words" finally. They aren't crystal clear but we can tell what he is trying to say. Some of the words we have picked up on are banana, apple, juice, milk, ball, shoes, hi, bye, knock-knock, row (your boat), tick-tock, tickle, and home. Of course mama and dada, but he's been saying those for a while!

Next week is the last week of school. YEAH! Our school didn't do too well on the state standardized tests. Our sixth graders did horribly! It will be interesting to see what they come up with in reaction to such scores. Many of my students did ok, but a lot of them didn't. Of course, my students are considered "at risk" so it was known that they faced challenges. A good many of my 8th graders will be in summer school this year! One of my "problem" children told me after he learned that he had failed the test that he wished that he had not goofed around in my class. DUH!!! Hind sight is 20-20!
