What water ban?

We finally planted our garden this weekend and as you can see, Chasen picked up a few things from us! Who knew a kid could love a water hose so much! We planted flowers and bushes to add to our beautiful landscape, and we also added a vegetable garden. We will be growing tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, cantaloupe, blackberries, and raspberries. We already have a blueberry bush and a fig tree so it looks like we should have a fruitful summer! Hardy-har-har! We actually have plenty of room for some other experiments. I was thinking of squash and watermelon. Or a pumpkin! But that seems almost like having another baby, waiting so long for a perfect pumpkin!

This is the "big" week in school. The state standardized tests! At least they will be over soon, the kids are acting so crazy! After this week, we only have a few weeks left and then it's summer break! I will be going to Georgia State this summer, but I still think I prefer that break from the kids!

Worst Spring Break EVER!!!!

So our spring break wasn't all that it was cracked up to be! I mentioned in my last post that Justin had a stomach bug. Well, it took him out of commission for almost three days. Then, I got it AGAIN! It seems that every break we have, one or both of us is sick! And this spring break was no exception. Then, to top it all off our water heater broke! We had to go to our parent's homes to take showers for two days and then $1000 later we have a new water heater. We (I) was not able to do as much on the kitchen as I had planned, so the remodeling will be continued! I did get some done, and I'm happy at that progress but there is still a lot to do. I never got to take Chasen to the Children's Museum, but he did go to C. Cheese TWO times! He really likes it there. He also went to the park twice, so I think enjoyed his spring break! Here are some pictures of Chasen at C.C. with my friend Mara's baby Emily.

Spring Break!

It's spring break for the Millers-whoo hoo! I've posted a few photos that I have come across. Some are from Easter, some a little before. The first one is Chasen with a fading black eye-thanks to some poorly placed Lego's! The next ones include Chase and my mom after his church Easter bonnet parade, Chase shooting baskets at the church Eggstravaganza, and Chase on his slide at my parent's house.

We are off this week and I'm glad to have the break! We have a lot to do this week though, catching up on what we did NOT to winter break! Hopefully we can finish some projects and move on with our lives! We also plan to have some play-dates and take Chasen to Imagine It Children's Museum. Justin has a stomach bug today, I had it last weekend which stalled our plans then and Chasen had it earlier this week. Hopefully we won't pass it back around to each other!

Chasen is really starting to do new things every day. He is now pretending which is too cute. He pretends to feed his stuffed animals and he is always "pouring" something from one container to another. He jabbers a lot more now, though still is not saying any real words. He is able to tell us "yes" and "no" though, which is really helpful. He loves it now that it's getting warmer outside and loves to play out on his deck. I just can't wait until it's warm enough for him to try out his baby pool! There is also a park near by that has an indoor pool, I plan on taking him swimming there very soon. I feel like it has to be warmer outside, even though it's an indoor pool!

It's hard to believe there are only a few weeks of school left. Things are really wrapping up. The state tests-CRCT's are in two weeks. After that, it might be a little stressful until the end of the year. I hear the kids think the year is over after the CRCT's and really start acting up. We already have so many kids suspended and in "boot camp" I can't imagine it getting any worse! I'm excited for it to be coming to an end. I'm ready to start a new year with some new concepts and a better understanding of how to be an effective teacher.
