Merry Christmas!

We hope everyone had a merry Christmas! Ours was very merry, though a bit tiring. Chasen has been sick all week and managed to pass on his cold to Justin and I. Chase is getting better but the adults are feeling pretty bad! At least we felt well to take care of him when he was at his lowest. I guess this is pretty typical of raising a child and/or working in the school system-being sick for all the holidays!
Chasen loaded up with gifts from Santa. He has a lot to play with for the next couple of months. He really got into opening up the presents by the end of the night! He was ripping the paper off with such passion! He got some really cute gifts from local family and well as some one-of-a-kind presents from his great Aunt Joyce in Seattle-thank you everyone!

The Holidays are Here!

I am officially off for the holidays! But why do I feel like I still have so much work to do?
Chasen met Santa for the first time Saturday night at a friend's Christmas party. I'm not sure Santa is coming to our house this year......Chasen was terrified! I actually got to see his molar that's coming in he was screaming so much! Poor, poor baby. But I did learn that my kid can't be bribed by candy canes! No matter how much candy Santa tried to give Chasen, he would not go near him!
I can't believe that we only have two more weeks and then it's 2008! It's going to be a busy year for us! I go back to school in January, along with working full time and tutoring. Justin is planning on taking some certification tests to upgrade his resume. The good thing is that his job now will at least pay for one if he passes. But we know he will pass! He is also still going to Dekalb Tech and taking courses online. We are busy!
We wish everyone a happy holidays and we will keep posting any more cute Christmas pictures that come our way!

Ahhh....to be young again!

We took Chasen outside today to play in the leaves, he had such a blast! He loved to dive into them and throw them up in the air. Then he got excited about the rake and wanted to help dad out with it. We need to buy him a "kid" rake and put him to work! This kid's not afraid to get dirty (or itchy)!
We think he may be saying some of his first words. Last night when we were taking a bath I put his rubber duck in with him and he said "duh". But not like for dad, it sounded more like duck. He repeated it a couple of times. Tonight, same thing! Justin thought he said "airplane" outside when the airplanes were flying over.....I know that he loves to point out planes?!? So, we are thinking duck will do for the first words! Of course, mom and I think we hear "kitty" too, so that might be in the running as well.
Chasen is finally getting his last "first" molar in. It's about time! He's had his other molars in for a while now, just missing one. Again, for some reason the right side of his mouth is slower. He still only has three teeth in the front bottom as well, the right one missing. It's funny that his molar has come in before that one, usually it's the opposite.
Only two more weeks of school until Christmas break. We are doing a mock CRCT this week and the schedule is a little out of whack. I was ok with it until I found out I will have to monitor the testing! This means that ALL day, I only have a 50 minute break which includes my lunch break. YUCK! I'm use to an hour and then another 30 minute break. That doesn't leave me a lot of time to prepare or refresh, so this break is starting to look really nice about now!
