Bath buddies

Chasen had fun last night taking a bath with our friend Lisa's baby-Payton. Chasen showed her how big boys splash! It's amazing the different personalities that two babies the same age can have. Chasen is so wild-he's all boy! I also noted that he has got quite a Buddha belly compared to Payton....must be from me freaking out at one of his doctor visits when he weighed in at less than the 50th percentile. I've been stuffing him like a Thanksgiving turkey ever since...I don't think he's underweight anymore!
He gotten very smart this week. He brings certain toys on command and is starting to stack put things in their place. He's so proud of himself when he does it too! He claps his hands and looks to us for praise. What a smarty pants!

That's Italian!

Thought I'd share this picture of Chasen Ford and his pasta! YUM! Things have been a little wacky with him this week. Friday Justin had to take him to the doctor because he had broken out in a rash all over his body. The doctor said it was most likely a food allergy, but what food we don't know. Between three households, it's hard to tell. We think it's a spice of some sort, but we may never find out! Or, we will realize it if it happens again. The doctor prescribed $50 worth of medicine and he's all better now! Through all this excitement, we missed something amazing happening inside his sweet little mouth! More teeth! We saw his upper right tooth coming in for weeks, and it finally poked through last week. But today, Justin and I looked inside his mouth to "awe" the new tooth, and he has the left upper tooth now, AND a bottom right tooth! We were shocked! When did these appear??? We never even saw them coming, though I have to admit Chasen has been chewing on both sides of his gums like crazy, wouldn't eat last week, and has been cranky. But we attributed that to the rash. It was most likely his new chompers! We are just so flabbergasted since his teeth in the past are a good 3-4 weeks apart coming in, not 3-4 days! So, now he has 5! And I wouldn't be surprised now if #6 is in very soon.
My birthday was Friday-the big 32! Justin and I went out to eat in Conyers at our favorite Japanese spot for sushi. It was nice, though I admit I really didn't want to eat out in Conyers. I miss living in Atlanta. There are so many good places to choose from. It's hard to make a decision because everything is so good! Here is Conyers, our Japanese restaurant is our ONLY choice because everything else is so bad! We would have gone out on Saturday but we had a wedding to attend for one of Justin's fraternity brothers. The wedding was nice, in downtown Atlanta at the Wimbash house. Of course, nothing can ever compare to your own wedding! It was strange to sit there and imagine what the bride and groom must be feeling. It seems like so long ago, but it's only been two years! So much has changed...but for the good! We left Chasen at home to be watched by my mom and sister. I wish I could say the same for other couples. One 18 month old girl screamed through the ENTIRE ceremony and even got into the middle of the aisle and started throwing a fit. I will never understand why her parents let it get that far. This couple will forever wonder what the priest was saying because it was hard to hear through a screaming child?!?

Cock-a-doodle-doo!

Some interesting discoveries have taken place with "Mr. Perfect". This kid was suppose to love fish. He has a fish-themed room, fish toys, and an actual fish tank! But the Millers and Thompsons have gotten a hold of his young mind and with the help of both sets of grandparents is now in LOVE with roosters and crowing like one! He can point out all the roosters in his books, can see one on a shelf ANYWHERE and "cock-a-doodle-doo"!!! We even went so far as to buy him a stuffed rooster which he loves. Who could have seen that one coming?

Chase also got his 5th tooth in this week, and it's about time! That tooth took a long time coming in, only a mouthful more to go! He also got a haircut finally. My mom was on the verge of putting bows in his hair and calling him Chelsie!

This week is also the Mother's of Multiples bi-annual sale. In other words, the mother load of sales! I can't wait! I can find such great bargains there, and he will be needing 18 month outfits soon. He's eating up a storm! We gave him green peas tonight and he loves them!

My birthday is on Friday-whoo hoo! My gift is to pay my car tag! What a crappy gift from our government! But, it's only one of many. I love that Rockdale county residents have to pay a "storm water" tax now......and what exactly are they doing with my storm water? Last time it stormed here (months ago) the rain ran down the street and into our creek. So how exactly is this money being spent? One can't think too hard on these things without adding more grey hairs....

Stupid Ants

We are having such a hard time with ants this summer! They must be hungry and thirsty, but oh so dumb! They are invading all the wrong places. The living room windows, Chasen's doorway, my makeup drawer! They were huddled around my Q-tips like they had struck gold! What would the queen ant say if they came back to the hill with a Q-tip? They have never discovered the real food or even been seen in the kitchen (knock on wood). Poor stupid, hungry, dead ants....

Hope everyone had a good and lazy Labor Day. We spent a lot of time with family including Silka who came up to visit. It was hard going back to work today, but the load is light this week. Teacher workdays and pep rallies the rest of the week!
