At last, a Bumbo at last!

I FINALLY got a Bumbo!!!!! I have been wanting one of these for months now and thru a friend I got a great deal! A Bumbo is a little seat that Chase can sit in and he can't topple out of. He can sit up very well, but still falls over from time to time still.

He actually had some milestones this last week. He now rolls over from back to front, and then is forced to do tummy time! It has been a blessing and a curse. The blessing is that it's more tummy time, he is getting better at it, and he is now starting to move about along the floor. He can't move forwards, only backwards! He actually backed himself under the changing table the other day, that was pretty funny! I'm sure he will learn the forward motion soon. The curse is that he rolls over and over in his crib and gets his legs stuck in the rails or gets on his tummy and won't roll back over. He has taken a few naps on his stomach, but only when he is absolutely exhausted. Other than that, he just fusses until we go flip him back. Also, I don't know if he's teething or not but he has become moody! I hope it's teething and not a new personality development! I want my sweet baby back! I think a lot might be due to just being more active and alert. He's not happy just sitting and "being". He wants to explore, touch, and taste everything and doesn't like constraints (like highchairs and laps sometimes).

Barry has finally retired, or so we think! We will see soon enough. I think my dad didn't work for 3 months before he started working again! Had to have money for all his fancy hunting toys!

Men in Orange

Due to "fan" requests (ha ha), I'm going to try to include some pictures of the house so that people can see how the Millers live at "Miller Plantation".

Justin and Chasen are here enjoying a lovely afternoon on our back deck. You can see some trees are starting to bloom already. Our front yard has a blooming pear tree. The tree is too big actually, whoever lived here before never pruned it! It's the largest I've seen yet!

Chasen had a bath today and is really starting to enjoy splashing. He also discovered the bubbles today, that was too cute. He was amazed and tried to hold them! Every day is a new learning experience for him. We have introduced meats into his diet. He had beef last night and seemed to enjoy it. But contrary to what daddy said, Chase did not wake up with chest hair this morning!

Looking for a Target Sponsorship

This is unusual for me, but I had to blog about Target!

The fam went the other day to Target and we needed diapers and formula. We have been buying Similac or Enfamil formula, usually I have a coupon for $5 off or so, ending up costing around $17-18. Well, I didn't have a coupon this time and decided since he doesn't drink as much formula anymore to try the Target brand for $12. I read the back of the label and it has EXACTLY all the same % as Enfamil-at half the price! No ill effects on Chase's tummy either. OK, score one for Target. We also bought the Target brand diapers after hearing that they are good. We are big Pampers fans, about $12.99 for 35 on some days. Target was $10.79 for 60+! That is huge! And, they fit and work just like Pampers! For those of you who don't have babies, this is a boring blog. But I think this is a giant discovery! I just wish we had known this 7 months ago and saved some money!

For the non-baby people, Target also has an awesome potato chip line-Archer Farms. They have really fun flavors and are really yummy. We are munching on jalapeno cheddar now. As Chasen would say when he eats "Mmmmmmmmmmm".

Looking to the future

Thank you Bob Haff for this cute picture of the baby!

Speaking of.....we have finally opened up a college account for our little genius. Of course we know he will receive countless scholarships for his outstanding SAT scores, but a little extra never hurts!
My quarter at Dekalb Tech is coming to a close. I get a week break, it will be useful just to take a breath. But then next quarter starts and I'm back to being busy grading papers etc.

As for the tutoring, I have been tutoring one student on history. That has been interesting. I totally didn't recall what the Magna Carta was! Anyone? Bueler? Bueler?

We have also been thinking about a website to promote my tutoring. Any ideas? I was going for Math Einstein but Justin says ConyersMath or ConyersTutor. I'm not sure. But I think a website and some other promotions would do well. What do you think?

Pimp My Ride

"Little C" turned 7 months old this week. How time has flown! He's closer to his first birthday than birth! He had his second flu shot and weighed in at over 17 lbs. We all wish daddy had gotten his flu shot. Justin has been sick all week. But baby and mommy are doing well. Chasen has started to really make some faces. He gives you looks of "whatever" and "what the h$**?" Too cute. These pictures are of him and his pimped out exersaucer hang'n in da hood wearing the latest in urban skids.

Meanwhile, I got another private client for tutoring. So now I have 2 students of my own and 2 that I tutor for a private tutoring company. Doesn't sound like a lot but between that and my class at the college I am staying pretty busy. My day time is spent with "C" and my evenings I am tutoring. It's fun, and it always keeps me thinking of how I hope Chasen can memorize his multiplication tables! No rush though, I will settle for sitting unassisted first!
By the way, I just finished putting up a ton of pictures of the baby from birth until now on www.justinandjacinda.com . Just click on "pictures" and scroll down to "Chasen". Enjoy!
