Getting ready for "My first BOO"!

Chase is getting excited about his first Halloween. Can't you see the anticipation in his eyes? He will be a lion this year. Not a scary lion, not one without courage, but a friendly lion. No candy yet, only milk!

Good news for the parents: he is now sleeping 8 hours a night! This has occurred three nights in a row, so I think it's sticking! We put him to bed sometime between 8 and 9pm and he does not wake up until 5:30am! Of course, I'm sleepy then but I know I will adjust to it and start waking up about that time anyway! I am up now blogging at 7am on a Saturday....but I know this is the only time I will have today to get on the computer and pay my bills! Who knows, I might start getting up more often and having a few hours to "myself". Then, I can have more time during the day to just be with Chasen without the other worries.

I hope everyone has a happy Halloween and watch out for the candy! I've already eaten an entire bag of candy-corn. Mental note: can't leave candy in the living room unsupervised!

Celebrating One Crazy Year!

Thank you for all the best wishes for our anniversary.

On the 14th, Justin and I went to a wine tasting and out to dinner at our favorite place-Daruma's Japanese Steak House. It's where we went on our first date and we love it there. They never fail to impress us. Then we came home and exchanged our "paper" gifts.

On Sunday the 15th, our parents came over and we ate some of our year-old wedding cake and drank some bubbly. The cake was still tasty! Of course, our parents cared more about Chasen than cake, but I think that's expected! It's no longer about the newlyweds but the newlyborn! But who can blame the, he's so freak'n cute!

This past Saturday we went to at Thrasher's game (that was my paper gift) and had a blast. I forgot how fun hockey games were! We had some oysters, mussels, and calamari beforehand at McCormick & Schimks and caught up with old pals. It was great to get out on these "dates" and it gave both grandparents plenty of time to babysit!

Chasen is doing great. He is talking up a storm now (which the picture is of) and is more interactive with us. He smiles at you and will laugh if you laugh. He slept thru the night for his first time on the 15th (an anniversary gift) and has done it another time. Even when he doesn't sleep for 8 hours, he at least sleeps for 6. Not bad! He is such a happy baby now, we love him so much!

If I wanted a puppy......

If I wanted a puppy, I would have gone to the pound! Check out Chasen's drool! This is a new phenomenon- he slobbers now like a hound dog! He has perfected the art of bubble blowing and his longest drool has measured over an two inches! Ends up babies are much like dogs, they eat, poop, and drool. He's pretty cute though, so I think we'll keep 'em.

Upcoming Anniversary

Justin and I will be celebrating our one-year anniversary this Sunday! Actually, we will be celebrating Saturday the 14th because Sunday is "Football Day". It's funny, we dated for 6 years before getting married and only after we tied the knot I found out Justin was really a football guy and now all his Sundays are spent in front of the tv. AND he stopped my recording of "Desperate Housewives" on Tivo to watch a game....but that's another blog.

Anyways, we don't have any plans yet for Saturday and are trying to brainstorm. We want to do something special, not out of town too far, but inexpensive. Any ideas?

It's hard to believe it's been a year. It seems like just yesterday....or at least last month. This year has had a lot of ups and downs for us. The pregnancy, buying our first house, losing my job, starting Justin's business, Justin's grandmother having a stroke, my grandmother passing away, my dad falling and breaking his ribs, Chasen's birth, Silka leaving her job, and my sister losing hers! Who knew that so much could happen to a family in one year.

Any suggestions for celebrating getting thru our first year married in one piece would be well received, and we will let you know next week what we did!
