Due Date has Come and Gone!

Our due date was rather uneventful! We went to the doctor's today and I am measuring about 2 cm in dilation and according to the doctor about 60% of where I need to be. This is better than the visit 2 weeks ago, of course. But Justin wants SOLID answers! Basically, I'm on my way and it could be any day, or any week!

Justin is off for the next few weeks and we have gotten every thing in order and even rented a bunch of movies! We need the distraction! Hopefully Chasen will decide to pop out in the next few days-this weekend would be great to avoid the horrible Atlanta traffic!

As for all the old wive's tales.....a bunch of hooey. We have walked, had spicy food, Chinese food, and other things that I'm not going to blog about! The only thing we haven't tried is castor oil and I'm not going there. I hear it works, but is very painful, and can cause intense and frantic labor. I'm not that desperate! Labor is painful enough without a case of the runs......(sorry to be so graphic)

I will keep you posted if anything changes!!!

Counting the days.....

Oh, how the days are dragging on and on......

Due date is Friday-though that doesn't mean much, it's just a guestimate. The doctor says they won't let a mother go over a week late, so if all else fails we are having this baby by the end of the month!

Justin and his family want me to have the baby on the 29th, since it is such a popular birthday for their family. But I don't want to wait that long, after all I am the one carrying him!

Every day that goes by, I get more nervous about delivery and wanting to meet our little man more and more. I can't take another week! Hopefully he will come sooner than later!

Baby's Room

My mom took some pictures of what Joy was able to do in the baby's room before she got sick and flew off to visit her mom. She has done such a great job so far, we can't wait until she gets to finish! Though, she might be alarmed when she comes back and sees all the baby furniture up against her murals! If only we had a larger room....

3 more weeks!

3 more weeks to go until the "due date"! I can't believe it is almost here. These months have been creeping by, and now it seems like any day we could have a new member of our family!

We can't wait! The baby's room is ready, though the mural had to be put on hold. So beyond the partial fish on the wall, we are ready to go! Justin put together the crib and changing table plus the stroller. Now, all we have to do is figure out the car seat and pack our bags!

We took a hospital tour Friday and it was really nice to know what to expect. It didn't feel like a hospital at all, more like a hotel. We felt there should have been a bellman to check in our luggage! The birthing rooms are really nice, and have a tv etc. But, they only have a VCR. All this emphasis on Northside being the largest birthing hospital in America and they don't have DVD players?????

Dr. says everything looks good on my end, Pistachio is completely turned head down-a good sign! She says he's probably around 6 lbs right now. We got to see another ultrasound, but it was so tight in there you couldn't see much!

He has his more wakeful times now. Previously, he might stir around for a few minutes and then rest. Now, when he's "up" he's kicking around for 30 minutes plus! Hard to ignore those rib kicks! Everything is felt on my right side, since he's turned that way. So I get punches and kicks all together!

We are getting so excited, and Justin is starting to realize how close we are! We like to sit in the baby's room and talk. We just can't wait until he's here!
