Crazy Robin

Weird things are happening at the "Miller Plantation" (by the way, our neighborhood is called Plantation Woods and we live off of Plantation Blvd).

We have a psycho robin who bashes himself repeatedly on our porch doors all day long. He will sit on the porch, and fly at the window over and over and over..... Our window is now so dirty with robin spit (we hope) and he wakes us up every morning doing it! He is doing it now for the 4th time this morning and he will come around again in the afternoon and in the evening as well.

We can't figure it out! We have put all sorts of items, including Pistachio's stuffed animals we have already bought in front of the window but he continues to go kamikaze!

Poor guy must get such a headache!

My teaching job

For the past two weeks I have been teaching a basic math course for Dekalb Tech. So far, it has been pretty fun. We have been covering fractions-joy! But, the students are eager to learn and participate in class, making the job more enjoyable. Though, they do like to push the limits sometimes and always try to convince me not to give homework! I give them a quiz tomorrow, so we will see how well they have absorbed the lectures!

I think this is a good practice for my future tutoring that I plan to do in the fall. I am still going go try to launch that little career so that I can have the days with Pistachio and the early evenings, make a living part time.

If anyone has any referrals, let me know!

Moving In

Boy, has it been a long two weeks! The Millers have officially moved to Conyers and we are tired! We have been painting and unpacking, painting and unpacking nonstop! Who knew we had so much stuff?

Silka flew in last night and she has been a huge help with the boxes. We finally have most of our kitchen put away! We also FINALLY got a fridge! This is the third one we had delivered! The first one was wrong, the second was too big, and finally the third one is "just right"! It is holding beer and Pepsi just fine, because that is all we have over here so far!

Moving into an older home definitely involves a lot of work. We are trying to make it our own-getting rid of the peach walls in place of "honey white". But it will all be worth it! I just can't wait until we are done so that we can live normally again. All this work is not helping my swollen ankle situation!

By the way, I would put pictures on the site but we haven't found the box with the camera in it yet! At least we know where we packed our clean undies!

It's Official-I'm pregnant!

There are those who might smirk that I have read all of "What to Expect When You're Expecting". But I'm glad I did because all the "expectations" are coming true! If I ever wondered before in the dull periods of pregnancy, I know for a fact that I am a mom-to-be now!

First, I got my first set of stretch-marks. I tried really hard not to get them, but they showed up anyways. And they ITCH! Worse than the books say! It's non-stop! No medicine helps, I just go around itching my belly all day long.

My feet and ankles are swollen, I can't even recognize them anymore-when I get at a good angle to look at them over my belly! I will have to go up a shoe size to make it thru the summer-I just hope they shrink back!

Backaches are now more common than not, I hurt every day and if I do an ounce of housework or moving I limp around the rest of the night.

Speaking of night, I don't sleep. I wake up every two hours-getting ready for the baby? That's a good line, but I would love to get some sleep NOW!

I 100% cannot wear ANYTHING pre-pregnancy-even my undergarments are too tight.

I can hardly get my shoes and socks on, my feet are hard to reach. And my feet hurt, even with athletic shoes on.

Of all these signs, the only part that is good is that total strangers are starting to ask when I'm due! That's great! At least they don't stare and wonder how many girl scout troops I supported this month! When this happens, it is the highlight of my day and makes every pain and itch fade away.....at least for a few moments.
