Thanksgiving Recovery

Wow! We had a great Thanksgiving, I'm still full! We had our first Thanksgiving with the Thompsons and the Millers-plus a Borland at our lil' apartment. Justin and I worked Wednesday night and all day Thursday to prepare. We had turkey (of course), two types of stuffing, two types of potatoes, cranberry relish, spinach, carrots, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, not to mention all of Justin's appetizers. I think everyone had a good time-we were so tired though! We slept in till noon the next day, and did a bunch of nothing the next day. It took us until SUNDAY to get everything back to normal! Thanksgiving is fun, but I now know it's a lot more fun to be the guest than to be the host! Next year, I will deligate a lot more and not take on so much myself. My back will appreciate it!
Here is a picture of the cleaning crew-oh, and Justin.

Frozen Vs. Fresh LIVE 2005!

A turkey is a turkey-until Thanksgiving. Then we have farm raised, organic, free range, kosher, brined, frozen, fresh but previously frozen, and tofu turkey!
Justin and I are in the midst of preparing our first Thanksgiving where WE are the hosts for a change. And oh, the decisions! Justin has his idea of what is "traditional" and I have my own traditions too. So, we find ourselves meeting in the middle-sort of, and perhaps starting our own traditions. We knew that getting married would be the coming together of two families and two worlds-I guess that includes two Thanksgivings!
So, will our first turkey be fresh, frozen, or burnt? To be continued.....

Happy Anniversary!

Today marks the 1 month anniversary of our marriage! Our first after-wedding celebration!
And what do you know, tonight for the first time in our marriage it is my night to cook!
Justin is at a "plastering for penguins" class, leaving me to make our special dinner. And I am armed with recipes! I only cook once every 3rd blue moon-I can afford to be organized!
This is a picture of what the Miller's dinner is suppose to look like-I hope I'm close!

When Will Football Season End?!?
College games are on Saturday, professional games are on Sunday, and my husband works Monday thru Friday! When will I get him back? I miss my new spouse! Though, I'm starting to feel a real connection to Brett Favre....On the pro side (no pun intended) -Justin does cook dinner while watching the games, so he is productive! But he scares me with shouts and yells, I'm thinking he just cut off a digit with our new knives! But really he is cheering or jeering the Falcons.
I guess I should consider myself lucky-at least I'm not a golf widow!

My first blog as a NEWLYWED!
Everyone keeps asking me if it feels any different to be married. I've heard that it will, I've heard that it won't. Well, I can honestly say that 3 weeks and 3 days into marriage-yes it is different-it's better! Life is sweeter since the Millers tied the knot. The "I love you's" are heard more often, the phone calls just to chat are more, and we just can't get enough of each other.
The hardest part so far is saying "Jacinda Miller". I still slip up on the phone, and writing it is a little difficult. I wonder if Justin knows that I think of him every time I write my name now!
I can't wait until it becomes natural, though we still haven't recieved our marriage license so I haven't officially changed it with the powers that be.
Everyday life is also full of a lot more "we's" and "our's". Our money, our time, our future.
I am thankful to be looking forward to a lifetime of we's and our's!
WE are also working on our website- www.justinandjacinda.com Justin is an amazing web designer! I will continue posting all our happenings, funny stories, trials and tribulations of marriage, and our happiest moments.
